Why do you love CSM: It is the greatest place on earth... I have met my best friends and some super incredible campers at that place! Oh and I like laughing 24/7.
What is your favorite CSM memory: Too many! Kimber '06, summer with CITs, being attached to Kevin Zak's hip for 8 years, spineless dancing, weekend at Bernies campfires, being Matt Vaughan's sidekick, and basically every single moment of '09 (whatasummer!).

New Year Round Staff Member at Camp Stella Maris!

We would like to welcome a new member to the Year-Round Staff family at CSM! Matthew McMannus, 21 of Piffard, NY, will be starting his full time position as the Maintenance Assistant January 1^st, 2010.

Matt will be graduating from MCC this spring with a Business Management Degree. Matt has been working part time with us for two years now, and will be helping Dick and Jim with many ongoing facility projects.

When you get a chance please congratulate Matt on joining the year round team at Stella Maris!

Why do you love CSM - I love CSM because it is the one place on earth where i can run around covered head to toe in paint and glitter, play with kids and change lives all at the same time. The people I have met through camp are people that have had an impact on my life and have made me who I am today. Knowing that I have the ability to inspire kids to come back to camp and maybe even become a counselor one day is incredible.
What is your favorite CSM memory - I was a Senior I camper in Ave with Sloaner and Linky and we went to dinner dressed as farm animals.

Years as a Camper:
From when i was a junior camper till a CIT, so that would be 9 years
2009 Position/ Area:
I was a Male Senior Counselor, and i was in the best area on camp, Arts and Nature
College and year:
I am a Theater Performance Major at Virginia Commonwealth University and i am a sophomore

What do you want to be when you grow up?
I want to be a stage/movie actor, and later i want to teach theater at a high school level
Why do you love CSM:
There are many reasons why i love CSM. I love CSM because it has made me a better person with the valuable life lessons it taught me. I love the fact that i get to pass on the traditions of camp to all the campers that I interact with. I love all the staff that i get to meet and interact with and know that i have made life long friends with these people. Camp is just such a great place for people to go to, its nice to know that there is a place for kids to go to and escape the real world and just do the craziest things imaginable.
What is your favorite CSM memory?
I think it was this summer, H week, i was the assistant LIT director for the GH session, and we got to make the St. Judes Chapel into a haunted house. So we got a lot of toilet paper and we TP'd the chapel, dressed in black clothes, played the opening song to Sweeny Todd, and scared kids for the evening program. I actualy scared a kid so much he accidentally punched me in the face!

What do you want to be when you grow up - a scientist :) i want to do research and discover something awesome, and then i want to become a college professor
Why do you love CSM - because the CITs make me happy. they are mature but still kids. they love camp so much, and they (almost) all want to work at camp so badly! they do and say really funny things too, just like all kids.
What is your favorite CSM memory - the last night of H-week of 2009 and the bubble boy and food fight programs!

As a camper, sleeping in the same bed in Russer for two weeks and looking out the window at camp every night before I fell asleep. As a counselor, hosting my first campfire.
