Counselor of the Week - Dylan R

I just finished my third summer on staff

Years as a Camper:

From when i was a junior camper till a CIT, so that would be 9 years

2009 Position/ Area:

I was a Male Senior Counselor, and i was in the best area on camp, Arts
and Nature

College and year:

I am a Theater Performance Major at Virginia Commonwealth University and i am a
sophomore

What do you want to be when you grow up?

I want to be a stage/movie actor, and later i want to teach theater at a high
school level

Why do you love CSM:

There are many reasons why i love CSM. I love CSM because it has made me a
better person with the valuable life lessons it taught me. I love the fact that
i get to pass on the traditions of camp to all the campers that I interact
with. I love all the staff that i get to meet and interact with and know that i
have made life long friends with these people. Camp is just such a great place
for people to go to, its nice to know that there is a place for kids to go to
and escape the real world and just do the craziest things imaginable.

What is your favorite CSM memory?

I think it was this summer, H week, i was the assistant LIT director for the GH
session, and we got to make the St. Judes Chapel into a haunted house. So we
got a lot of toilet paper and we TP'd the chapel, dressed in black clothes,
played the opening song to Sweeny Todd, and scared kids for the evening
program. I actualy scared a kid so much he accidentally punched me in the face!
